Umrah visa and Nusuk permit: how to apply

A plain guide to the Umrah visa steps, documents and limits. Rules change, so confirm on the official portals.

Information only. Rules, permits and timings change, so confirm with official sources and your scholar before you travel. We do not sell, book or guarantee anything.

Two ways to apply

Nusuk or the Saudi eVisa portal: citizens of about 66 countries can apply directly, including the UK, US, Canada, EU states, Australia, Malaysia and the GCC.
Licensed agent: applicants from other countries, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt and Nigeria, are reported to apply through an agent licensed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Check which applies to you on the official portal.

Visa types

Single entry: enter within 30 days of issue and stay up to 90 days. Multiple entry: valid one year with up to 90 days total stay. The dates printed on your visa decide, and extensions are not allowed.

Documents

Passport valid at least six months with two blank pages, a recent photo on white background, round trip flight, proof of accommodation, and a meningitis (MenACWY) vaccination certificate. Names must match the passport exactly. A source also reports a booking reference number linking a Nusuk approved hotel and transport, so ask your agent.

Who can apply

Women aged 18 and over are reported to be able to apply without a male guardian. Children under 18 travel with a parent or guardian whose visa is linked to theirs.

Estimated fees and season

A travel site reports a government fee of about SAR 300 plus compulsory insurance of about SAR 100 to 180. Confirm the fee on Nusuk. For the 1448 AH season the same source lists the last date to issue a visa as 9 March 2027, to enter as 23 March 2027 and to depart as 7 April 2027.

Inside Saudi Arabia

Use the Nusuk app for permits, entry to Masjid al Haram and Rawdah booking, even with a valid visa. See timings and the Umrah guide. Beware of fake agents, see scams and safety.
