Carry little cash

The ministry says costs are paid before arrival, so you do not need much cash. International credit cards are reported as accepted, so card payment is usually enough.

Declare large amounts

Declaration is mandatory for currency, monetary instruments, precious metals or stones, or fine jewellery worth SAR 60,000 or more. An electronic form is available through ZATCA.

Use banks or licensed exchange centres. Keep receipts of all transactions to protect your rights.

Protect your cards

Do not share card details with anyone. Do not send money to unknown sources and check payment links before paying. If you are a victim of fraud, contact your bank immediately, then the authorities. With a Saudi SIM you can forward fraud SMS messages to 330330.
