Niyyah (intention) for Umrah

Make the intention in your heart. Many pilgrims also say: Allahumma inni uridul umrata fa yassirha li wa taqabbalha minni.

Meaning: O Allah, I intend Umrah, so make it easy for me and accept it from me. Say it at the miqat after you put on ihram.

At the miqat: Talbiyah

Labbayk Allahumma labbayk. Labbayka la sharika laka labbayk. Innal hamda wan ni'mata laka wal mulk. La sharika lak.

Meaning: Here I am, O Allah, here I am. You have no partner, here I am. All praise, favour and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner. Men say it aloud and women say it quietly.

During tawaf

There is no fixed dua for each round. Pilgrims remember Allah, recite the Quran and ask for what they need. Between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone, many recite:

Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanah, wa fil akhirati hasanah, wa qina adhaban nar.

Meaning: Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the next, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

After tawaf

Pray two rakat near Maqam Ibrahim, then drink Zamzam and make dua. A commonly mentioned dua when drinking is to ask Allah for beneficial knowledge, good provision and healing.

At Safa and Marwa

On approaching Safa, recite: Inna as Safa wal Marwata min sha'a'irillah. Face the Kaaba, praise Allah and make dua. Do the same on Marwa.
