Privacy policy

Short version: your details stay on your phone. We do not run accounts and we do not sell data.

What stays on your device

• Your saved hotel and language choice.
• Your location, only when you tap a button that needs it. It is used on your phone to show distance and direction and is not sent to us.
• Your QR ID card details. The card is made on your phone and nothing is uploaded. Saving it on the phone is optional, and passport, visa and permit numbers are not saved unless you tick that box.

Third parties

Links to Google Maps open Google, which has its own privacy policy. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are useful. It runs in a privacy mode: analytics cookies stay off unless you allow them in the ad choice banner, and IP addresses are anonymised. We do not use analytics to identify you.

Advertising

Makkah Madina Guide is free to use and is supported by advertising, mainly Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads. If you allow personalised ads, they may use your browsing and approximate location to choose ads. If you choose basic ads only, ads are not personalised. You can change your choice any time from the Ad settings link in the footer, and you can manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com. We do not show ads on emergency, lost mode, ID card and help pages.

Your choices

You can clear everything with the Clear button on the QR card page, or by clearing site data in your browser.
